Insomniac is closing out the year with a cosmic shift. For its 11th edition, Countdown NYE is blasting off into a brand-new orbit and landing for the first time at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The move marks the festival’s most daring evolution yet, transforming a massive Downtown space into an extraterrestrial playground primed for an all-night journey from 7 PM to 5 AM for New Year's Eve, December 31st.

At the helm of this year’s voyage is none other than house music phenom John Summit, whose meteoric rise continues to dominate global stages. Joining him are the ethereal, emotion-woven melodies of Above & Beyond, bringing their Grammy-nominated touch to the celebration, and the legendary Pryda, Eric Prydz’s iconic progressive alias known for transporting dancefloors into other dimensions.
Adding to the spectacle, Madeon (DJ Set) brings his cinematic, technicolor soundscapes, while SLANDER’s blend of melodic bass guarantees a euphoric emotional punch. Drum & bass heads are in for a treat with Sub Focus, whose high-velocity energy promises a late-night adrenaline surge. Meanwhile, heavy-hitters Crankdat and Wuki inject their explosive, genre-fluid styles into the mix.
Countdown NYE is known for its adventurous programming, and 2025 pushes even deeper into the underground. The festival’s harder, darker corners will be ruled by titans such as Kobosil, R-Label boss Cera Khin, and fierce selectors Clara Cuvé, Kevin de Vries, and Shlømo, all of whom bring a relentless edge with their techno and hard dance prowess.
On the faster, more frenetic side of the spectrum, viral breakout acts like AK SPORTS, Ship Wrek, MPH, southstar, Starjunk 95, Gravagerz, and Close Friends Only round out the spectrum. Rising talents Marie Nyx, AR/CO, and OdyMel further anchor Countdown’s commitment to future-facing sound.

With its move to the Los Angeles Convention Center, Countdown NYE enters a new chapter, one that promises scale of spectacle and a fully immersive environment. Attendees will drift through towering art installations, alien landscapes, and the festival’s four distinct stages, each designed to pull fans deeper into the Countdown universe. Returning for 2025 is the provocative Red Light District, a fan-favorite that blends risqué artistry and atmospheric intrigue. It’s a bold, sensory layer that completes the festival’s orbit, embracing the strange, sultry, and interstellar as revelers toast to the new cosmic cycle.
GA and VIP passes are available now, with VIP offering a curated upgrade for those looking to elevate their New Year’s experience: expedited entry, premium viewing areas, and elevated food and beverage offerings. As always, VIP is 21+ and a fitting touch for an evening designed to blend luxury with the unknown.
With its expanded footprint, daring artistic direction, and genre-spanning lineup, Countdown NYE's latest iteration will be a world-building experience. As the clock strikes midnight and confetti collides with cosmic light, thousands of revelers will ring in 2025 inside an immersive universe only Insomniac could craft.
