It all started while I was sifting through old emails and stumbled upon a media invite from DJ Label, an up-and-coming record label based in Miami. As luck would have it, their team was heading to New York for opening weekend at The Summer Club NYC in Long Island City. Leading the lineup for the seasonโs debut event was Conobi, a rising DJ and producer originally from the Bronx. Now Miami-based, Conobi was discovered by DJ Label, who saw his talent early on and took a chance on his sound. โI'm originally from the Bronx, New York, and moved to Miami almost two years ago. Motion is everywhere right now, so as you can imagine, but yeah, I moved to Miami two years ago after I lost my job. I got laid off, and that's how I met Scooter; that's how I met my community and started at parties, and here we are.โย
The DJ Label is a Miami-based artist management platform, DJ collective, and record label championing the next generation of dance music talent. Founded by Diego Alexander Mendoza and Scooter, the project was born out of a late-night epiphany at Club Space, fueled by a shared passion for curation, party culture, and raw dance floor energy. While mega-venues like Factory Town, M2, and LIV have driven Miamiโs club ecosystem toward massive, festival-scale productions, The DJ Label is stripping things back and reclaiming the scene's roots by putting sound, local talent, and intimate community front and center.
โScooter is the founder of DJ League. I met Scooter at Club Space two years ago when I moved there. They had an open house, which is like for the local, up-and-coming artists. We hit it off immediately and started doing events together. I would teach him things, he would teach me things. He would invite me to events, I would invite him to events, then we started DJing together and started the DJ label.โ - Conobi
Throwing unforgettable parties is only the first layer of The DJ Labelโs master plan. The brand has expanded into broadcast media with a live radio show, streaming high-energy sets and live events directly to a growing global audience. At the heart of this initiative is a commitment to artist development and offering underground DJs the platform, exposure, and stage time needed to break into the industry. โA platform for DJs to be able to grow and just be themselves, right in their right lane, and just get the proper support and the right people. We're still learning, we're still growing,โ said Conobi as he continues talking about the label that took a chance on him. As their movement gains momentum, The DJ Label is laying the groundwork for a global touring franchise, bringing their community-first ethos and infectious sound to new horizons worldwide. โI see DJ Label being like Circoloco and elrow. We're really focused on the community, making sure that everybody feels welcome.โ - Conobi.

Conobi stands out as one of the most compelling talents on the record label and radio show roster. Joining the label in 2024, just as the platform began its explosive expansion, his arrival marked a turning point in its growing success. Born in the Bronx and shaped by the relentless, fast-paced energy of New York City, Conobi spent years navigating the corporate grind. However, when an unexpected job loss disrupted his routine, he seized the moment to pursue his true calling: packing his bags for Miami to chase his dream of becoming a full-time DJ.
It was on the legendary dance floor of Club Space that fate stepped in. There, Conobi connected with label founder Scooter, sparking an instant friendship and creative partnership. Immersed in Miami's vibrant music scene, Conobi rapidly evolved his craft, mastering the nuances of music production, live performance, and crowd control. Today, his signature sound is a seamless, high-energy fusion of Afro House, Tech House, Minimal, Minimal Deep Tech, and Techno. โI'm playing techno, which nobody knows that side of me,โ Conobi added unexpectedly.ย
โI feel like Afro House is spiritual in a way. But also has a lot of roots of, like, African roots, Caribbean roots. I grew up listening to rock, classical music, but also had that Spanish influence.โ - Conobi
What began as a journey grounded in Afro House has rapidly evolved into a faster, higher-BPM exploration of minimal deep tech, glitchy textures, and intricate sound design. โI like to be well-versed in everything,โ he notes, prioritizing adaptability and reading the energy of whatever room he takes over. Grounded by the timeless legacy of electronic legends like Armin van Buuren and Tiรซsto, Conobi continues to innovate by channeling the forward-thinking energy of modern heavyweights like Josh Baker, Prospa, and Beltran.
โBeltran. He's from Orlando. A little bit about me too. I grew up in Orlando for half of my life. He taught me how to DJ. So itโs a full-circle move. I really look up to him. That's what inspired me to DJ and produce. I would say probably Josh Baker as well. Prospa are another inspiration. Those are my top three right now. Beltran, Josh Baker, and Prospa. I love the D-cuts.โ - Conobi
Music has always been Conobiโs ultimate sanctuary and a constant light even in his darkest hours. โI was in a very dark place when I surrendered to music and DJing,โ he reflects. โWhen I felt like I had nothing left, I still had music. Itโs been the one unwavering presence in my life, so itโs no coincidence Iโve made it to where I am today.โ That undeniable pull eventually led him to Miami, a pivotal leap of faith that allowed him to fully embrace his passion and turn his lifelong dream into a reality.

If you havenโt heard of Conobi, then listen to his most recent track โPeace of Mindโ. His musical identity can be demonstrated by listening to the instruments breathe. From the titleโs clever play on words and balancing the desire for inner calm with a literal fragment of the creator's psyche, the track sets an immediate emotional tone. It operates in that bittersweet space where vulnerability becomes a strength rather than a liability. What strikes you first about โPeace of Mindโ is its sense of space. Conobi continues to create new music and material; he has scheduled more exclusive sets on the DJ Label Radio show. You can find Conobi throughout the Miami underground dance scene. He will be performing at the first anniversary of Elite Groove at the Negroni Bistro & Sushi Bar on August 1, 2026.
โThat's how I see myself five years from now, just doing bigger stages, making music with John Summit and making music with some really cool people that I grew up listening to, like Afrojack and Armin van Buuren. So that's what I see happening, like me sharing the stage with those. Then a carnival around the country, a DJ carnival!โ - Conobi
Conobi is on a rapid ascent toward becoming dance music's next big name. Blending genre-defying soundscapes with relentless experimental energy, heโs constantly pushing the envelope. Currently making waves throughout Miami, Conobi is gearing up to take his electrifying live sets across Florida and the entire country.
โDon't give up. Go for it while you can. Do it now. Don't wait. I gave up everything. I was a financial advisor. That was all I knew. And here I am. I'm DJing in my hometownโsomething I created almost two years ago. And yeah, you can too. So go for it. You're never too cool for this. Never too old.โ - Conobi
