Desert Hearts Festival has officially announced its return to the serene and stunning Playa Ponderosa in Northern Arizona from July 3–7, 2025, and the vibes are set to be immaculate. Teaming up once again with Phoenix’s creative powerhouse Walter Productions, Desert Hearts is diving back into its roots, the infamous single-stage format, boundless energy, and round-the-clock twenty-four hours of nonstop music. Nestled deep within a private stretch of the world’s largest ponderosa pine forest. Just thirty minutes from Flagstaff and seven thousand feet above sea level, this isn’t just a festival, it’s a full-on, soul-nourishing escape into the wild.
After a successful debut at Playa Ponderosa in 2024, Desert Hearts continues to evolve while staying true to its core: community, creativity, and a deep love for the dancefloor. With its “one stage, one vibe” philosophy, the 2025 edition promises an uninterrupted journey through house, techno, and everything in between, a pure expression of underground culture under the open sky.

This year’s lineup is a dreamscape of global icons, rising stars, and Desert Hearts family favorites. The 2025 Desert Hearts Festival includes House legend Justin Martin, bass house pioneer Destructo, and Mushroom Jazz originator Mark Farina. Plus, Techno sensation Andreas Henneberg, LA groove-master Kyle Walker, also on the ballot, is breakout star Omnom, Collecting Dots labelhead Omri., the funk-filled sounds of The Sponges, and rising star Ranger Trucco. Returning Desert Hearts family like Mary Droppinz, Tara Brooks, atish, Nala, and a powerhouse back-to-back set with DJ Minx and Kevin Knapp ensure the vibes are both familiar and fresh.
“I’ll put Desert Hearts Festival up against any party in the world. Nothing touches the vibe we’ve created. It’s 72 hours of non-stop house, techno, and love on one stage, one vibe, in the great outdoors. And that’s not even counting the Thursday ‘Welcome Home’ party. We’ve built this independently for over a decade, with heart, intention, and the best community on Earth. It’s more than a party. It’s a movement. If you know, you know. If you don’t, 2025 is the year to find out.” – Mikey Lion
Expect genre-defying sets from local and international talent alike, with names like Beth Lydi, Casti, Disco Zombie Squad, Drew Dapps, and many more joining the roster. Of course, the heartbeat of the festival, co-founders Mikey Lion, Lee Reynolds, Marbs, and Porky. Which will bring it all home with their traditional Desert Hearts Crew closing set, a rite of passage for fans old and new.

At Desert Hearts, the music is just the beginning. The experience is enriched by a kaleidoscope of theme camps, visionary art, and interactive spaces, including Pile Palace, Dreamscape Collective Art Gallery, Healing Sanctuary, plus the Vendor Village and, of course, the Walter Theme Camp and Art Car Arena. Where flame effects and surreal sculptures turn the dancefloor into a living, breathing art gallery.
This ongoing collaboration with Walter Productions is a story in itself, one of Burning Man roots and over a decade of creative synergy. Known for their fleet of epic art cars like the iconic ‘Walter’ VW bus, and their spaces like Walter Studios and Walter Where?House, the Walter
team helps infuse Desert Hearts with large-scale visual wonder and grassroots heart. Their contributions from the Kalliope sound stage to pyrotechnic installations elevate the festival into something beyond your typical weekend rave. It's art, it's community, it's a celebration of weird and wonderful expressions.
As corporate takeovers continue to dominate the festival landscape, Desert Hearts stands strong as a champion of the independent scene. Their newly launched indepeDANCE Pass, a $599 GA ticket that includes entry to Desert Hearts Festival, Same Same But Different, Northern Nights, and Joshua Tree Music Festival, is a bold stand against consolidation and a love letter to the DIY spirit. All other tickets and camping packages are still available.
Desert Hearts will deliver its infamous and intimate curated festival from sunrise sets in the trees to spontaneous dancefloor connections. The festival is a gathering where music is the heartbeat, and love is the language.
