{bash} Brooklyn Takeover - Event Review

Written by Meagen Surowiecki  on October 7, 2024

A new immersive tech-inspired dance event is emerging into the underground scene. Welcome to Bash Audio {bash}! First launched in May 2024 in New York City,  where a team of music industry collectives united by their passion for exploring emerging technology to enhance new experiences for artists and their communities. {bash} blends underground dance music with cutting-edge tech to revolutionize how you experience sound. Their mission is to connect artists and fans in immersive, tech-driven dance events that push the boundaries of music, secured by Polkadot.

From coast to coast, {bash} is bringing the energy across borders. Returning its underground roots in New York City where it all began for {bash}, as they brought back their first big event in the city that never sleeps. On October 4 at The Chocolate Factory in Brooklyn, the new nightclub was transformed into an intimate dance space where fans and artists could connect on a deeper level through music. Turning the nightclub into a dark warehouse vibe. The lineup which kept everyone dancing all night long, consisted of Radio Slave, Avision, Tal Fussman, and x3butterfly.

The night started with local hero x3butterfly, a Mexican/American DJ and producer from Detroit, currently based in New York. They have been heavily influenced by innovators such as Throbbing Gristle and Floorplan which then generated their style of sound. Their set was rich with percussion and progressive tunes striking with deep-curding chords. They were the perfect opener, unleashing their art of craft. What separates {bash} from other event companies is that they bridge the gap from underground to legendary artists. Giving the chance for an upcoming DJ/ producer to perform with the big leagues.

Avision and Tal Fussman, take on the decks for the night. The rich club culture of New York City, where Avision spent his formative years shaping his musical tastes and sensibilities. Tal Fussman's music transcends boundaries, appealing to a broad audience. His openness to different sounds has solidified his popularity, while also setting him apart. Growing up in a small town near Tel Aviv, Tal currently resides in Berlin and is eager for new adventures. The two Titans went back-to-back, where they defined musical boundaries. Starting their set with deep and vibrant house vibes, bringing back that underground house feeling. Their back-to-back set made my body dance throughout the entire time of their performance.

It was time for Radio Slave to transcend the night away at The Chocolate Factory. Radio Slave crafts dancefloor-ready tracks that are perfect for clubs. He's revitalized the classic Chicago jackin' house sound, adding elements of fractured funk, offbeat rhythms, and robotic soul. His upbeat house sound completely took everyone by surprise. The catchy vocals fill the club and create a relentless vibe. Closing out the night was a triple-play deck takeover with Radio Slave, Avision, and Tal Fussman. Delivering a collaborative, unforgettable performance to cap off the night. Each DJ with their unique sound combined into one unified set. The night was one for the books, offering a night of underground house music and vibes.

Solomun at Pacha New York - Event Review

Every artist has a line they won't cross. For Bosnia-born, Hamburg-raised electronic giant Solomun, that line was geographical. For over ten years, the Diynamic Music boss adhered to a strict, self-imposed summer boundary that once the Ibiza season starts, you do not cross time zones. No transatlantic flights, no grueling long-hauls, and absolutely no leaving […]
