With a monumental lineup featuring massive heavyweights like Kaskade & deadmau5 with Kx5, Lane 8 B2B Sultan + Shepard, Eli Brown, and Above & Beyond, the weekend promises to be unforgettable.

What truly sets this gathering apart from the world-class talent is the deep-seated philosophy driving the experience. To get you ready for the waterfront, here are 5 fun facts about the origin, evolution, and unique principles of We Belong Here.

1. It Started When the World Was on Pause

Before it was a thriving community pulling tens of thousands of fans, We Belong Here was just a dream born out of isolation. Founders Charles and Justin conceptualized the idea in Miami back in 2021, right in the middle of the global pandemic. With only a handful of event organizing experience between them, they shared a simple, powerful dream: for the world to safely reopen, and to never stop going to raves with their friends for the rest of their lives.

2. The Entire Festival Design Was Inspired by "Aging" Friends

As lockdowns lifted, the founders realized that time had passed and people had changed. They noticed that their older friends and family members were suddenly a lot more wary of massive crowds, suffocating festival barricades, and chaotic, packed nightclubs. To bring the people they loved back to the dance floor, they knew they had to pave a new path forward, one that prioritized comfort, safety, and maturity over standard high-density festival chaos.

3. They Traded LED Walls for a 360° Vision

We Belong Here completely flipped the script on modern festival architecture. Believing that a crowd's fixation had become too focused on "who" was performing rather than "where" and "how" the music was experienced, they established a strict "no LED walls or visuals" policy. Instead, they pioneered the 360 Stage, putting the artist directly in the middle of the dance floor. This structural shift ensures that the focus remains entirely on human connection and the pure joy of movement.

4. They Are Actively Funding the Next Generation of DJs

True to their mission of fostering a real, supportive community, the festival is dedicated to giving back and empowering creative minds regardless of economic status. We Belong Here has teamed up with Scratch Academy and the legendary institution founded by Jam Master Jay to fund paid-in-full scholarships. These scholarships allow young adults to pursue music production and DJing as a legitimate, professional career path and prove that the festival’s impact reaches far beyond the weekend speakers.

5. Multiple Locations

What began as a single vision in Miami has blossomed into a premier, nationwide festival brand in just five short years. From iconic rooftop gatherings to highly anticipated official Halloween celebrations, We Belong Here continues to redefine the festival landscape. Now, the brand is deepening its roots across the Sunshine State, bringing its signature experience to a series of Florida's most stunning backdrops and mesmerizing locations. From the historic shores of Virginia Key Island and the vibrant energy of Miami Beach, to the coastal elegance of Palm Beach and the scenic waterfronts of Tampa Bay, each venue is hand-selected to elevate the music. The journey doesn't stop at the East Coast. Expanding its footprint from Miami to New York, We Belong Here is proud to announce its newest chapter this November: a monumental debut in the historic, soulful city of New Orleans.

If you want to see exactly how these five principles translate to the stage, check out the complete daily breakdowns in the official festival schedules. Whether you are heading to the Brooklyn waterfront to catch legendary sets or simply to enjoy the premium food and scenic skyline views, We Belong Here is designed to make you feel right at home.

Weekend passes and daily tickets are still available but will sell out soon with this massive 2026 lineup.
